When I lived closer to this location, I was a regular who loved not only the generous samples, but the pumpernickel loaves, baguettes and, for the sweet tooth, really awesome lemon bars! Always loved the service.
Have always loved the coffee and pastries here but tried pizza tonight and it was <chef's kiss> I tried the butternut squash pizza which I feel is generally a risky experiment but I loved how it turned out. The thin crust was absolutely perfect, the cheese, pesto, and onion beautifully complemented the butternut squash, and overall it was a great dish.
I’m sad the first time I stop by is the day yall closing. Copped 10 of these little angel kisses.
One of my favorite bakeries in the city. They have a pretty good assortment of treats but they can sell out of some things quickly, so the earlier you go the better. They also have some pints of ice cream for sale if I’m not mistaken, but I always get their scones and muffins to eat over in Rittenhouse. I hear they have very good fresh bread too. The staff is always very friendly.
Thank you Metripolitan Bakery for being a part of the Rittenhouse neighborhood for 32 years! We grew up with you, loved stopping in and getting coffee and a treat for people watching in the Square! All the best to staff, you will be greatly missed!
Cute little corner storefront. Excellent bottled beverages. Perfectly prepared ice lattes. So many baked goods to choose from. The space is small and quite busy but a great spot to pop in for a treat before or after the Sunday market.
Service was phenomenal! The lady that helped us was friendly ❤️. We had drip coffee and chocolate croissants. So delicious, airy and flakey. Highly recommend -- all their baked goods looked beautiful.
So cute! Wish this place would have sitting areas as it has a lovely vibe and the coffees are wonderful. Tried the raspberry crumb bar and I highly recommend it (it was a little sweet so beware). Today I’m trying the chocolate flourless cake. The chocolate layer cake has also been recommended by local friends :)
Highly recommend‼️ The handcrafted sourdough and French fruit tarts are delightful, but the chocolate cake steals the show—moist, rich, and not overly sweet, a true paradise for chocolate lovers 🍫✨
Stopped for a quick coffee to warm ourselves up. We were mesmerized by the wall of bread. Olive and Thyme, Raisin Nut, Pumpernickle, Stollen and more. They were beautiful! Comments from the crew, best raspberry bar I have ever had. In my life, and I want to bite someone's head off, I think I'll have a gingerbread man cookie! Crispy deliciousness. Go there. The women behind the counter are as sweet as the desserts they offer.
